no b word at any time. Or at least the 17 year old needs to learn accountability as in " I was mad but that does not excuse my choice of words." Respect is critical and we teach people how to treat us. :)

That is unacceptable.. he should have consequences for his actions.

Peace is nice, but respect is more important.

I think respect is what is missing in most children now a days.... they are taught to be "entitled" for almost anything...
Maybe you could try to have a "peaceful" talk about how that was disrespectful....

There should be consequences for anyone who calls you the b-word. For example, should someone at a soccer game call you the b-word there will be consequences aka a slap in the face, a leg sweep, something of that nature. I'm not suggesting you punch your 17yo in the throat, but consequences there should be.

That's uncalled for and disrespectful. There should definitely be consequences!

I'd be upset. Respect is not too much to ask for. Consequences are good.

Oh there should definitely be some consequence. The B word is never right.

YOu are so not overreacting! There should be consequences for sure.

I would say that there should be consequences but I'm not the world's greatest disciplinarian. (As anyone who reads my blog or knows my kids IRL can attest to.)
