The Universe was out to get me yesterday...

Sunday, September 26, 2010

I was having a perfectly lovely morning...got dressed and was ready to go to Once Upon a Child with things we could no longer use - some of it unworn because I am a shop-ahead-aholic.

T-bone was going to hang with Boo Boo La La so that I could go by myself and then we would all hook up for the Robbinsdale Oktoberfest...yeah, I know its STILL SEPTEMBER....

I drop off the things right as the store opens and then head to Byerly's because I could hang there for the hour it would take and I could get a Caribou Hot Cocoa - which you should NEVER have because they are too addictive!!!!

It took like 15 minutes to get my cocoa because for some reason they were busy and slllllooooowww.

I noticed these two women wandering around.  They looked like the kind of people who suck the life out of everyone around them.  You know the kind - they overdress for everything - they talk and talk and talk and say things like the mother eventually said to me,

"We're a Volvo Family."
Ugh.

Sir, can't you send anyone...(quickquickquick get to the car, get to the car...)  Excuse me ma'am??

Yes.

Is that your blue station wagon

Yes, that is my car.

Can you help us jump our car?  My daughter was only listening to the iPod in the car for ten minutes and it just DIED.  We have cables (NO MOM THEY ARE BROKEN!!)  Oh do you have cables?  I guess they are broken and I just don't know...

Ummm, I am not sure if I have cables let me look.

OH Thank you!  Huh, A Capella University???  Do you work there?

Capella?  I used to...quite a while ago.

OH!  Ha ha!  I said A Capella and it obviously just says Capella on there.  Ha ha ha.  You see....blah blah blah...

Blah blah blah blah...

No need to fill you in on the mindless chatter this woman continued to spout as we tried to jump the damn Volvo.  I mean it made me TIRED.  After fifteen or more minutes of trying and well after it was CLEAR to me they needed a new battery I left.  The daughter got ANNOYED when I said that I would try to stay and help for a few more minutes but my daughter was expecting me at home to go to a festival and she jumped out of the car and unhooked the cables and practically shoved them back at me.

I felt BAD but...not really.  They were the kind of people that you help them and then you end up losing and they need help AGAIN five minutes later.

THEN the store didn't have my stuff gone through so I had to wait ten more minutes.

THEN my husband got annoyed at the Oktoberfest - I did too but whattaya expect when it was not really very well organized....the food was good though and Boo Boo liked the Ronald McDonald Magic Show and Fising Pond.

THEN on the way to dinner with my girlies - photos to come tomorrow - I was late because of an accident on the way...

THEN on the way home!!!  IT TOOK ME OVER AN HOUR to get home.  Not only was there a WILD Game and a GOPHER Game ... but 94 lost two lanes at Snelling.

I just about cried because I was tired and tired of SUV's cutting me off...

IJUSTWANTEDTOGOHOME!

Okay Universe.  What else ya got to dishout???  Huh bitches???

Actually today has been pretty good.

aye aye aye. You had it all hit at once, didn't you.

But I did love your description of the women at Byerly's (even saying you were at Byerly's completes the image). I totally know the type.

Hope things have improved since then.

What is it with SUV's cutting you off? They never use turn signals either. And they tailgate. Grrr.
