The Fresh Air Fund

Thursday, December 9, 2010

A few weeks ago a nice lady (Hi Sara) at The Fresh Air Fund contacted me and asked if I might tweet or blog about the organization and how we all can help inner-city youth experience something as simple as playing in the grass.

You take that for granted like me don't you?

Grass?

Rolling in the grass down the side of a hill?

My daughter does that everytime we go to the park.

But kids who live in tough neighborhoods in New York City?  not.so.much.

So watch this video about Brandon Mendoza & The McKnight Family of Cape Cod, then if you are moved go the The Fresh Air Fund's website and do something.

Thank you!
ML

There is an organization (may be the same) that actively place inner city youth in our neck of rural America over the summer--I have always thought it was a good idea.

I'll check out the link and nice work with the publicity.

You are so right--green grass is not something I think about when thinking of charities. Thanks for sharing!
