Any ideas?

So I have not blogged much about it - just that one line.

I lost my job.

And here I sit day after day looking at job descriptions and waiting for calls and emails - or if its a good day I am off at a job interview, but I really hate talking about myself when I have to make me sound "AWESOME" and not just be self-deprecating.  I am pretty awesome, but I am also Lutheran/Scandinavian, we frown on bragging.

Anyone have ideas how to manage your time/day or stress?  Transitions, no matter how positive your attitude, are stressful.

Thanks in advance for realizing how little I have been posting and why.  I really appreciated the comments I got from you all saying it will be better - because IT WILL be better.  Those who know me well know that I was not really that excited about my job and NOW I will await something that fuels the fire!

Off camping this weekend, will report back with pictures Monday!

I am painfully behind on my Reader! I'm sending you mental hugs Lisa. I think that if you weren't happy at your job, maybe there is a reason you were given this opportunity. Something bigger/better/more lovely is waiting.

i think a little bit of a "mourning" period after losing a job is normal and allowed. it is a big change so you shouldn't feel like you have to figure everything out immediately.

the right job will come along....it might take some time and some searching and some waiting for the phone to ring....but it will happen.

a simple little job searching tip that makes things the slightest bit easier: if i can, i put all my job boards into google reader - this becomes especially helpful with craigslist. this way you can easily star anything you want to come back to and everything new will pop up so you don't have to worry about missing a new listing.

and if it applies to your line of work, get yourself on linkedin and maybe see if a recruiter can help you snag an interview

good luck - if you can, just try to look at the brightside and enjoy this free time you have (though i am sure that is easier said than done)

Sorry to hear that. I know how you feel. I once was forced to leave my job because they did not have funds to pay me, and made me work 4 months without pay.

I had to look for jobs within that 4 months and thankfully found one. Like you, I don't like to 'brag' about myself, I usually downplay my abilities a bit so that people don't expect too much of me, although I am not a Lutheran nor Presbyterian.

All the best in your future endeavors!

Remember in those interviews that you're selling yourself. I know you can do this.

I'm here for you, Lisa.

I am in the same boat...I have been looking for something full time, but have had to resort to a part time opportunity just to make ends meet. You will get there - just keep on keepin on!!

Oh no! Other than the loss of income, are you upset? Did you love your job? I hope you find something you love soon! HUGS
