How do they learn this stuff?

We do not watch Sesame Street, or Barney, or Hannah Montana, but somehow Boo Boo La La knows who all these characters are. Today we fell victim to

Cute litte Miss Hello Kitty!

We got two dvd's and a pair of slip on shoes for about $17.

Now, I do not mind that my daughter has a mind of her own and knows what she wants. But I can not help but wonder where she is learning all these characters? Our Daycare provider assures me they do not watch "Josh and Drake", "iCarly", or "Hanna Montana", but she knows these people when she sees them. In fact she has a crush on Drake as hard as the crush she has on Shaun from Hi-5, which is a show I know she watches. Is it really true that kids see that many commercials? And where are these Barney and Hello Kitty commercials that I am missing them? Seriously?

I just refuse to buy any Barney stuff. I draw the line there man.

Younger friends are fun....

This card on Hallmark.com plays "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer; and says Is it hot in here? Or is it just me? and I NEED some ice! YIKES!

It reminded me of a card my friend showed me she got for her sister the other day.

Friend: "Look at this funny card about hot flashes I got for my older sister! Ha ha."

Me: "Oh funny. How old is she this year?"

Friend: "45! Ha ha ha."

Me: Blank stare that said -- don't you remember I turn 41 in less than 60 days?

Friend: "What?"

(to be fair she thinks I am her age because I do not look 40 and she would never say anything about me being old like that because she thinks we look the SAME age and she is like 32. so it really did not bother me, it was just funny.)

Too Busy!

I just find it hilarious when people always say they are 'too busy'. There is no way you can be too busy all the time - it cracks me up! It just means that you would rather be doing something else and/or you are trying to seem more busy than everyone else. Do you really think that makes you look better? Or are you just less efficient than the rest of us.

Lesson for those of you who are too busy! Take a breath, give it a rest, we all have stuff to do.

I got this sticker in the mail about two weeks ago now. I WANT to put it on my car, however I am leary for several reasons.

1) My boss is a conservative and I have to pick her up at the airport when she visits
2) I do not want people to imagine I support Hillary for any odd reasons, like ???

Anyway, I feel awkward. On the one hand I am sick of the Hillary-bashing and want people to know I do not feel that way ---but I work for a global financial institution that is conservative.

Sigh

To those of you who can sleep like a rock...

I hate that you can do that. Why can't I do that?

It is especially hell-ish to sleep next to a guy who can doze off in like, two seconds.

I am TIRED! Two sleepless nights in a row and one restless night prior.

Not a whole lot to say today

I do not really have much to talk about today.

I am continually disappointed in the media and their election coverage

I continue to try and fit workouts in so I feel better and perhaps can sleep better

Boo Boo was SUPER excited to get back to her regualar daycare after two weeks - she hugged EVERYONE and kept squealing to the delight of her daycare provider -- I am kind of glad she is back from vacation too, Boo Boo la la got bit so hard the other kid drew BLOOD THROUGH HER T-shirt last Thursday at the backup daycare

My stepkids are still around for a good part of this week - there mother had an operation - I am still not sure what for - but, it was major and takes weeks of recovery. She was still in the hospital today and had the operation last Tuesday.

I LOVE my friends, do I tell you that enough? Everyone is so supportive and I feel better about who my close friends are today than at ANY time in my life - Even if you won't go to Disney with me. ;) Seriously, I win the lottery and we go to an island and have people hired to bring us cocktails and good food right to the beach!

I am excited that my brother might be having a baby girl - they still do not know for SURE, but we will see. Thanks for babysitting too!!

Other favorites lately, Simondelivers because I hate going out in public anymore, My mommy! Daddy too. My camera, T-bone's Aviator is fun to drive and a nice morning chat with my Caribou team. Luv you guys.
