It always takes more

Monday, October 23, 2017

I always have these grand plans for everything I am going to accomplish.

Not just on the weekend, but any given day.

Like yesterday I imagined that I would get another shelf of my closet organized, the laundry put away, roast squash, make dinner, maybe vacuum and clean the kitchen.

This, all after church, lunch, and going to get our pumpkins for Halloween.

Ha ha ha ha.

No.

I got the squashes roasted and the kitchen clean.  Oh, and I made rice and a salad for dinner. After all that was accomplished it was after six and I was pretty much pooped.

But I spent time with my husband and my daughter - maybe she will remember the pumpkins and the frappucino and not the argument we had this morning over moving the recycling bin.

It always takes more than you have of things.  More time, more money, more energy.

I always seem to run out.

Here is to setting my goals more reasonably this week.

Happy Monday Peeps.

How to make friends.

Playing Along - Hoping to breath life in this post!

Boo Boo La La looked up at T-bone and I Halloween night after we had a sidewalk chat with another parent.

"Who was that?"

We didn't know that father with the three little kids out Trick Or Treating at all.  But you know what?  On Halloween parents talk to each other on the sidewalks like old pals.

Just like kids on the playground.

Have you noticed it too?

Adults just don't talk to each other like kids do every day.

"Do you want to play with me?" I hear Boo Boo say that when we go to parks, the pool, the beach, on vacation - anywhere she sees other kids she asks them if they want to play.

Do you do that?

No.  You don't.

There are very few times adults speak to each other like old pals or to make new friends.  It is unfortunate, but it is true.  We just don't ask each other to play.

I guess that is part of the reason I keep this blog going after so long.

It is my chance to ask you to play with me.

And you?  Why do you blog?

#BOO - Its a scary...

Since I am ever so lame - and don't wish to bore you with stories of how much I hate "online" job applications, or people who want you to arrive early for an interview and then make you wait out making chit-chat with the receptionist until its 13 minutes after your scheduled interview...

*ahem*

I am linking up with Tracy and Jessica for #Boo in the Blogosphere! You can too - I am not shy about letting you know they are giving away treats for us Mommies!!!!  (Daddies too - and pet children count!)

So here we go!  @IamBooBooLaLa was a very scary

...Genie from Aladdin

I like to take credit for other people's pumpkins...so sparkly!
Grandpa and Grandma came along to watch and take more pictures....

Na na na na na na...
Our pumpkins - PRE chomp-fest by our local squirrels.
Then we ate a Papa Murphy's Jack O Lantern pizza - and a Cowboy with white sauce.  mmmmm.

There you have it.  A glimpse of Halloween on the Parkway.

Mwah!
