Today I am giving you access to a 10% off code at Envirosax on the La Boheme Series- This code sundance2011 can be put in discount code field on shopping cart page before proceeding to check out. Promotion is valid for three days only from this Wednesday - Friday, February 2-4, 2011 and on USA and Canadian Envirosax web sites only.
Why? Well Envirosax is not giving me ANYTHING for this, just asking me to blog about the cool dress that was made from their La Boheme Series. The code is ONLY good on purchases of the La Boeheme Series of Envirosax!
And furthermore, if you get the bags and USE them...my work is done here. ;)
Envirosax, the original designer reusable bag, has selected Amit Ayalon, a recent design graduate to create a dress out of beautiful Envirosax designs and colors.
The dress, unveiled at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival Alive! Expo Green Pavilion creatively showcases the high quality and beauty of the unique prints of Envirosax while also helping aspiring fashion and costume designer Amit Ayalon showcase her talent in front of the Hollywood industry.
“I’ve always wanted to make a couture dress out of Envirosax bags because it’s a way to showcase the beauty of our designs in a creative and innovative way,” said CEO and founder Belinda David-Tooze. “It was very important to me to work with a recent graduate as design is a tough business to get your start. This way our dress also gives Amit the exposure and access to help turn her dream into a reality.”
Amit Ayalon, from Tel Aviv, Israel, is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Creative Design and won most outstanding student of the year award. She aspires to work with costumes in the movie industry while also continuing her couture design collection, Becoming Silhouettes by Amit Ayalon.
Made out of Envirosax original prints, the patterns selected range from floral prints to Japanese and Bohemian designs. The motif consists of a jacket, Victorian corset, back scroll piece, bustle and skirt.
“The warm brown, gold and red colors dominating the prints remind me of the Moulin Rouge fashion,” said Ayalon. “Other sources of inspiration came from movies such as Alice and Wonderland and Sherlock Holmes.”
Becoming Silhouettes by Amit Ayalon is her design label that released its first couture collection called The Neverland Collection. Inspired by fantasy movies such as Lord of the Rings and Avatar, The Neverland Collection gives the garments a dreamy feel showcasing a mixture of femininity and strength, the fairy and the warrior.
“My real passion is working for the movie industry while continuing my label collection as well as creating custom made garments,” said Ayalon. “Designing costumes give me the creative freedom to let my imagination lead the way.”
I hope you enjoy - and remember the code expires Friday, February 4th 2011!

Dear Friends & Contest Entrants!
Friday, November 19, 2010
I am hosting a giveaway here - and Envirosax gave me a bag to do it.
But recently there have been articles, like the one in the New York Times, and so I am sharing what Envirosax shared with me about THEIR bags.
Here are some facts to put your mind at ease (and get you to enter the contest!):
So - I trust these bags - I always have.
Just DO NOT forget to wash them...that's a whole other contaminant.
And if you are holiday shopping for MOI - I would love love love Slingsax 3 and Minisax 3!
just sayin'
But recently there have been articles, like the one in the New York Times, and so I am sharing what Envirosax shared with me about THEIR bags.
Here are some facts to put your mind at ease (and get you to enter the contest!):
- Envirosax bags are made from a high grade woven polyester NOT non-woven polypropylene.
- Non-woven polypropylene material may break down in UV light (sunlight) dispersing potentially toxic particles over your food, car, home etc. Polyester material does not do this.
- The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) is a recently introduced US legislation that establishes maximum safe levels of lead content in various consumer products, and establishes a certification process to ensure those products are safe for use by children. All Envirosax reusable bags have been tested for lead by an approved CPSA laboratory, Applied Technical Services Inc. in the USA and found to be in compliance with all applicable safety guidelines.
- All Envirosax reusable bags have been tested by Applied Technical Services Inc. down to 10 parts per million (ppm) and no lead was found at this level.
- Many cheap non-woven polypropylene bags tested as high as 500ppm, most hit 100ppm posing potential health risks.
Just DO NOT forget to wash them...that's a whole other contaminant.
And if you are holiday shopping for MOI - I would love love love Slingsax 3 and Minisax 3!

I am playing the THURSDAY TOP 3 hosted by Confessions from a Working Mom & The (Un)Experienced Mom. If you'd like to join in click on either lady's blog to get started!
TOP THREE STORES FOR SHOPPING?
yes please.who DOESN'T like to shop?
But I need to clarify my lists here!
For Boo Boo La La?
Once Upon a Child. I refuse to pay full retail for jammies for a child under the age of sleepovers! And probably after that too.
Old Navy. Where else can I get her a Wonder Woman T?
Target. For EVERYTHING else, duh!*
For ME!
Banana Republic. God I love their t's!!! Always perfect!
Old Navy. Can't beat the prices!
Target. ummm, again - DUH! (j'dore tar-jay!)
For groceries for the fam?
Cub Foods. My devotion to my home state! I even went to Cub when I lived in Indy! And they employed my daddy for the last 37 years. He retires on Saturday!!!
Costco. How do I love you? Let me count the teenagers in my house that you feed & the Diet Dew habit of my hubby that you fulfill....
TARGET!!! I love Target for grocery shopping. Especially when I get those little 10% off coupons. Their prices are awesome...(wal-mart can suc it!)
However, I never go to any of these locations any longer without my Envirosax. You have heard me spew on about them in several posts. And if you have NOT click on the label and all of them will pop up!

Get some for yourself today - the set above is exactly like the extra set I have. You can get them just about everywhere these days - including their own website. They also have a blog explaining how responsibly they act toward perserving Mother Earth while making a fashionable product.
Seriously, I get compliments DAILY! Oh, and 10 cents off PER BAG when I use them at....wait for it....
TARGET
*My mother worked at Target on Roberts Street in St. Paul, MN. I called her for the details because I +may+ have been a little fuzzy on it. It was not the FIRST Target, like I thought, but one of the first! She worked there when it opened in 1967 at the bakery. Funny how things come around. You do KNOW that Target had groceries via Applebaum's and a McGlynn's bakery in them in the 60's and 70's. They got away from that in the 80's (If my memory is close enough) and in the past few years have moved BACK to having grocery items & a pretty rockin' bakery! I LOVE TARGET!!!
p.s. Mommy Lisa has never recieved ANY compensation from Envirosax. She had ONE giveaway for Father's Day where a reader got ONE Envirosax. I just love them and their company and think their product is genious for an IDIOT like me to ensure I always have reusable bags with me. I keep a set in my purse & a second set at home in case I need to wash them. Which I do frequently - I always have a back-up!
MY BLOG IS GOING GREEN! Whoo! Hoo!
Wednesday, April 7, 2010

I love when things are simple and can make a difference.
I have told you about my fight against those darn bags that multiply beyond belief!
I have written reviews on laundry aids and my favorite bags...
And now with this post (and an email) I make my blog GREEN too.
Here’s how you can participate!
Just write a short blog post about the program “My blog is carbon neutral” and include one of the buttons on your site (ideally in the sidebar). Send the link to your blog to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de and they plant a tree for you, neutralising the carbon dioxide emissions of your blog. The trees will be planted in the spring of 2010 by the Arbor Day Foundation. For more information about how and where the trees are planted, see the NEWS section.
What are YOU waiting for? (Thanks magically ordinary for the great idea!)
November's Good Shopping Deed
Sunday, November 8, 2009
I get emails from Envirosax - I am their friend on Facebook - I write about them all the time. And now they are helping a cause that I find has touched some of my blogging friends. Having to give up pets because they have lost their home.
You are shopping for the holiday season already, right?
Why not participate by purchasing a set of bags for your Aunt or your Mother who you never know what to buy? Perhaps a socially conscious brother-in-law? Whomever!
Here is what Envirosax will do:
During the month of November, Envirosax is proud to donate $1 from the sale of every Graphic Series pouch (set of 5 bags, shown below) sold on the Envirosax website to the ASPCA®.
Recently there has been an alarming rise in reports concerning animals that have been left behind to starve or fend for themselves in empty foreclosed homes. Once discovered and taken to local shelters, many of these “foreclosure pets" are in desperate need of medical care.
Animal shelters nationwide depend on donations to help cover medical costs and provide food and shelter. Recently, donations have dwindled due to the recession and many of the shelters have been forced to cut holding periods from six days to three after which the animals are put down.
Not only are Envirosax pouches an affordable gift idea for the Holidays, proceeds from each sale of these select products will go towards providing food, medical care, and hopefully give abandoned pets a second chance at finding loving homes.

If you purchase a set let me know! I want to personally thank you. ;)

New Envirosax
Thursday, April 23, 2009
Envirosax sends me notification when they get new styles - I do this to torture myself apparently! Becasue I want a new set EVERY TIME.... however I resist because how earth friendly would that be if I just had a million sets of Envirosax? Anyway, check out their blog about Earth Day and the contribution that using Envirosax has on the planet...
Then DROOL (yes pun intended) over the new Animal Planet series! I wish they would send me that one - or the Botanica set, or the new Candy set, or...
P.S. I sent them a COOL suggestion for new product/packaging. I will let you know if they actually take my idea and run with it! ;)
Under the bathroom sink...
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Normally I keep the bathroom cupboard under the sink locked. I rarely go in there anymore because it is a mess - and I only keep cleaning stuff and extra lotion, deodorant, etc. under there...
Today I was looking for a razor as my hygeine was in need of assistance...And I started to pull stuff out to find them...and, and, and, well it was JUST TOO HORRIBLE!!!
I found close to 100 plastic and paper bags under the sink that I had shoved there for trash over the last 3 years. (the last time I cleaned this cupboard was before boo boo la la was born, she will be three in January)
Why was this horrifying? It pointed out to me just WHY I bought Envirosax. Think of all the times you get offered a plastic bag and you really don't need one.
Here is the ONE THING you can do to "green the planet", buy some good bags to get groceries, stuff at the drugstore AND yes Virginia - even at Target and Macy's use those darn bags. Give them for Christmas! Give them to yourself and to your children.
