Four years ago I pinned a shoe.

The Jeffrey Campbell Torch Wedge, in grey.

It was beautiful.

It was versatile, for jeans or skirts.

It was...

EXPENSIVE!

It also has been repinned 79 times.

The only pin I created that has been pinned more times is a DIY adjustable bracelet.

Every time someone repins the shoe, I search eBay for a pair. Since, of course, Nordstrom has long since divested themselves of this beautiful shoe.

A few weeks ago,  I got lucky.

There on eBay was a pair in my size that looked BRAND NEW!  They were green, but I love green. So I made an offer,  they countered,  and the deal was sealed.

Aren't they awesome?

Ignore the fact I need to wash my hair - Coconuts II

Monday, November 28, 2016

A couple of months ago I unpacked a box on YouTube - and I blogged about getting this box of amazing coconut oil products.

Skinny & Company is the brand and today I decided that my skin was looking pretty great - I love slathering the calming lavender & coconut facial oil on myself morning and night. I had done nothing but that for the past four days and....
This is 49.5

I have not put on any makeup since Thursday. I have been only putting on coconut oil and sitting in my hot tub.  Well, I did shower after those soaks.  :)

And while it is a little expensive for coconut oil and essential oils - it is not more expensive than any other face moisturizer I currently buy for myself.  And TODAY of all days I went to buy some and got BOGO.  They are having a "Black Friday Weekend" sale that seems to still be going strong.

So enjoy a little slather for yourself....

Happy Cyber-Monday Peeps.

You have three days to be done with Christmas Shopping!

Monday, December 22, 2014

Quick, what have you forgotten?

Last night we realized we had forgotten to have our youngest go pick out a fun gift for her brother and sister - sigh.

Are you missing something?

Did you buy a child in your home some type of electronic device?

Do you need these for YOUR sanity? Let your child enjoy his or her favorite tunes with these ReTrak Animalz over-the-ear headphones, which feature 85dB volume-limiting safety control to help protect hearing.

If you live near a Best Buy you can order them online for in-store pickup.  No, Best Buy didn't tell me to tell you this, I just find it highly convenient.  :)

But Retrak did send me* and Boo Boo La La these cool bear headphones to try out.  In fact they were kind enough to outfit her school media center with THIRTY of these great headphones - watch that story here: KSTP - 45.

Boo Boo really got excited to open them up - and they had a cool eraser inside the box.

We are pretty happy with these new headphones - Boo Boo can hear her games or videos AND she can hear me if I call her from the other room.  Boo Boo loves that the cord retracts into the headphones - NO MORE TANGLED CORD!

Plus, how cute are they?

*I got these headphones for free to try out, but the opinions are purely mine and Boo Boo's.

Happy Shopping and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

You know I love to share!

Mother's Day and my Birthday are so close together - its like CHRISTMAS ya'll.

Seriously.

I don't really want more than spending time with my family, but if T-bone is looking for ideas I thought I would throw some out there.

Tom's would be excellent - Give one, get one! I am a size 8. (Un-Tranny Hooker Peep-Toes!  Word!)

And I LOVE me some Rocket Dog summer sandals. Zappos has these! :)

And finally -

I want TWO 50' Pocket Hoses Please!

A girl has her priorities.

Cute shoes and a well watered lawn and garden.

When did we all become Transvestite Hookers & Nuns?

Friday, April 12, 2013

I want a new wedge peep toe for summer.

Is that REALLY too much to ask for?

No, right?

But EVERY damn place I looked the wedges are FOUR INCHES high.

I am shooting for somewhere between two and three inches.

Target?  Nope

Anthropologie?  All the sensible ones are SOLD OUT in size 8, natch.

Shoedazzle - right - oh no that is Kardashishoe Central.

JustFab?  Nope - and there its either ugly flats or hooker heels like Shoedazzle.

Where can a girl find a CUTE wedge with a peep toe for spring/summer?  WHERE???

I am at a loss.

Hooker heels or flats and not a space in between.  :(

Why does it need to be plugged in?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Today I saw that we had "junked" the electric stapler at work (And the jumbo manual one for big stacks of paper).  I was kind of glad because the poor thing didn't really work anyway....

Then I saw the brand new one.

I used it and it "THUNKED" so loud I jumped.

Why do we need this?

I have lately started to look at some "conveniences" as being less than necessary.

  1. Hot Lather?  Why do this to yourself in the morning?  All hot and lathered up?
  2. Self-Flushing Toilets?  Just leave me alone - I am NOT done yet I just moved a bit. Jeez!
  3. Self-Dispensing Soap & Paper Towels?  Isn't this just an energy waste?

But I am sorry if it is wasteful.  You cannot have my Sonicare!

I love the little side gadget that "sanitizes" the brush head.  I giggle over the glow it makes.

What do you find unnecessary in life?

P.S. from Aeropostale - GIVEAWAY!

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

So - WE LOVED the P.S. from Aeropostale store!

When I arrived with Boo Boo La La at Mall of America P.S. from Aeropostale store, I KNEW we had been there before.  Just this summer we had stumbled upon this bright and friendly store - when another store had disappointed by not having the Avenger's t-shirt Boo Boo wanted in her size.

P.S. from Aeropostale had PLENTY of DIFFERENT Avenger's t-shirts in Boo Boo's size - and p.p.s. they were less expensive.

P.S. from Aeropostale caters to mom's like me.  Why?

  • Their clothing is cute and trendy, but not too "grown-up".
  • They have lots to choose from in the size you want because they are aimed at kids ages 4-12.
  • They are not trying to be the store for all with just one or two in stock of each size.
  • OMG the sales people - the SALES PEOPLE are awesome.  Not pushy, just really helpful and show you all the cool features of items in the store.  Metallic nail polish?  Who knew that was what was in that cute bottle?? The cool sales girl wearing the polish, that is who.

And hopscotch and photo booth wall and tic-tac-toe and hula hoops!  Oh My!

Boo Boo La La loved spending some time in this store and really?  She wanted everything.  Including all the cool Monster High sketchbooks, erasers and stuff.  I may need to go back for the boots.

P.S. from Aeropostale really is a hit for kids and parents alike.

It made us Happy.   We had so much FUN.  And the clothing we ended up with?  Way Cool.
Even the blue streaks came from P.S.

Now it is your turn to discover P.S. from Aeropostale.   <-hop br="br" nbsp="nbsp" on="on" over="over" the="the" to="to" website.="website."> What is one item you would DIE for your kid to have in their closet.  I dare you to choose one thing because I love it all.

What then?  Comment with that item, link me to it so I can see.  You are now entered to win a $50 P.S. from Aeropostale gift card.  Cool, huh?

Want another entry?  Follow @PSFROMAERO on Twitter and leave me another comment with your @Twitter handle.

Please sir may I have another?  Yes.  LIKE P.S. from Aeropostale on Facebook - leave me a third comment.

That is all - except, they have a discount code for you to use right now thru November 11th.  The code is PSMOMSMN and gets you TWENTY PERCENT OFF!  Such a deal.

Can you see why this store is a hit with the whole family?

Contest ends at 8 am Monday, November 5th - Winner announced later that day.

P.S. from Aeropostale gave me a $50 gift card to shop and one to share for this post - but the opinions are truly mine.

There you have it - get shopping, or at least pull out the fall wardrobe from the back of the closet.

I had to go downtown anyway...

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Yesterday I was out downtown trying to source deals and I had heard there was something going on at Target...so I parked in their ramp because its FREE for an hour if you spend $20 in there and I needed stuff anyway.

So I saw her, "Little" Marina.  I have to say - she may have style, but that is one creepy lookin' doll...

Target Tuesday - Remodeling The Living Room

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

fabulousbutevil
With the ceiling work begun - the paint color of Shale Blue by Ralph Lauren selected - and my gorgeous red drapes purchased from Pier One for just $40!!!!*

I am ready to start thinking about other touches...

There is no ceiling light - this can hang as a swag light without mounting!

I love the shapes - and PRICE!

This is the perfect counterpoint to my inspiration pillow from Pottery Barn...

Not sure this will "work" but I still love it...maybe in the dining room?
*My color palette is coming from an INSPIRATION PILLOW that I purchased last June at Pottery Barn.
Grayish-Blues, Reds, a few Greens and Brown dashes.

Now go - shop Target and link up!  - How will you Tar-jay Today?

JewelMint?

Sunday, April 3, 2011

So have you seen the ads on Facebook?  JewelMint is Kate Bosworth's jewelry version of Kim Kardashian's ShoeDazzle...

From the site: "A cool jewelry line by Kate Bosworth and Cher Coulter... The site gauges your style and curates a selection of jewelry for you to choose from. " -InStyle Magazine

Okay - they sent me a survey and I got 60% off so I thought I would try it out.

P.S. They have NO idea I am blogging about their jewelry.  I got the offer by signing up at the site and not purchasing anything.

This is the package that arrived

When I opened the package there was this pretty "Minty" box...

When I opened the box...uhhh.

I think this is how it was supposed to look.

A cute little note...

Meh...
So the Metal Mosaic Ring at JewelMint is valued at - uhhh - $109.99.  You can, or could, get it at the site for $29.99.  Of course I got it 60% off that and I conclude - it is no where NEAR worth over $100...

If I saw it at Target on clearance for $8 I would buy it.

I felt pretty much the same about ShoeDazzle.  Non-leather shoes for $30?  I can get leather on clearance at Macy's for less...

So, am I cheap?  Have you tried JewelMint or ShoeDazzle and disagree?

Tell me.

Envirosax 10% Off - La Boeheme & a peek at couture!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Today I am giving you access to a 10% off code at Envirosax on the La Boheme Series- This code sundance2011 can be put in discount code field on shopping cart page before proceeding to check out. Promotion is valid for three days only from this Wednesday - Friday, February 2-4, 2011 and on USA and Canadian Envirosax web sites only.

Why?  Well Envirosax is not giving me ANYTHING for this, just asking me to blog about the cool dress that was made from their La Boheme Series.  The code is ONLY good on purchases of the La Boeheme Series of Envirosax!

And furthermore, if you get the bags and USE them...my work is done here.  ;)

Envirosax, the original designer reusable bag, has selected Amit Ayalon, a recent design graduate to create a dress out of beautiful Envirosax designs and colors.

The dress, unveiled at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival Alive! Expo Green Pavilion creatively showcases the high quality and beauty of the unique prints of Envirosax while also helping aspiring fashion and costume designer Amit Ayalon showcase her talent in front of the Hollywood industry.

“I’ve always wanted to make a couture dress out of Envirosax bags because it’s a way to showcase the beauty of our designs in a creative and innovative way,” said CEO and founder Belinda David-Tooze. “It was very important to me to work with a recent graduate as design is a tough business to get your start. This way our dress also gives Amit the exposure and access to help turn her dream into a reality.”

Amit Ayalon, from Tel Aviv, Israel, is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Creative Design and won most outstanding student of the year award. She aspires to work with costumes in the movie industry while also continuing her couture design collection, Becoming Silhouettes by Amit Ayalon.

Made out of Envirosax original prints, the patterns selected range from floral prints to Japanese and Bohemian designs. The motif consists of a jacket, Victorian corset, back scroll piece, bustle and skirt.

“The warm brown, gold and red colors dominating the prints remind me of the Moulin Rouge fashion,” said Ayalon. “Other sources of inspiration came from movies such as Alice and Wonderland and Sherlock Holmes.”

Becoming Silhouettes by Amit Ayalon is her design label that released its first couture collection called The Neverland Collection. Inspired by fantasy movies such as Lord of the Rings and Avatar, The Neverland Collection gives the garments a dreamy feel showcasing a mixture of femininity and strength, the fairy and the warrior.

“My real passion is working for the movie industry while continuing my label collection as well as creating custom made garments,” said Ayalon. “Designing costumes give me the creative freedom to let my imagination lead the way.”

I hope you enjoy - and remember the code expires Friday, February 4th 2011!

Holiday Shopping with Boo Boo La La

Friday, December 24, 2010

Last Saturday, December 18, 2010, was supposedly the BUSIEST DAY ALL YEAR at the

Mall of America

are we not the luckiest people to have this place? ;P

At the time I didn't know that, but I knew that I had three little things left to purchase and that I wanted to pick up some birthday invitations to send out.  Boo Boo La La's birthday happens soquickly after the holidays I need to keep organized.

So because it was the only mall with all the stores I wanted under one roof - off to the Mall of America we went - with a backpack full of supplies to keep Boo Boo happy in case this took some time - the lines to BUY anything at the Mall of America are NOTORIOUS for being looooooooooong.
----WAIT-----
Have you ever BEEN to the MOA?  Let's pause to show you the Google Earth image of it so you know how HUGE it actually is...

Now THAT'S a Mall

I keep a wristband with points on it in my wallet too - yes, there is an AMUSEMENT PARK inside this mall - it was Camp Snoopy, but do to some controversy it is now

NICKELODEON UNIVERSE
So you can do things like...

Hug Diego...

Turn around and hug Dora

And then pose..

Or do as mommy suggests and go in Sponge Bob's bouncy house.  I thought maybe, just maybe I would get a happy girl if we went in the bouncy house before we shopped...

Oh - by the way - that busy shopping day?  I was moving under a charmed star that day.  Both stores where I wanted a gift card had a special checkout for that with NO LINE and the third store had no line (not telling where or what I bought, people read this blog you know...) and lastly we got birthday invitations in RECORD time, and for a record price.  Boo Me for not looking at the tag.

...we arrive at the Mall of America and I found parking in under five minutes and I begin to share my plan with Boo Boo.

ML: Babe, before we shop do you want to go in Sponge Bob's House.
BBLL: Sure!  Then can I go on the swings too?
ML: We only have time for one thing today.  Is that okay?
BBLL: Sure, can we come again some days too?
ML: How about some time around your birthday?
BBLL: YEAH!  My birthday is after the holidays, right?  Hey WAIT (she sees something...) Can we go on the log ride instead?
ML: ummmm, are you SURE you want to go on that?  Look at it.
BBLL: YES, I want to go on the LOG RIDES!

Well there happend to be a LOOONG line at Sponge Bob's Pineapple In The MOA and NO line at the Log Chute so...

Oh yea, I am mom of the year...
and I forked over $9.99 plus tax to prove it.
