Holidazzle Memories - Minneapolis Christmas just is not the same.

Long ago and far away we used to have a Christmas parade in Downtown Minneapolis called Holidazzle - they now have a market they call the same, but it's not. 

Here take a look at one from 2009

Fabulous Friday - Oh the pain!

About four months ago Boo Boo La La and I went to a fundraiser for Girls On The Run.

Girls On The Run is a National Organization for elementary/middle school girls focused on girl empowerment through a program that includes running - and ultimately recognizing their GIRL POWER by running a real 5k.

Like hundreds of people run - it is open to the community and is really a great time.

That little pumpkin smiling big in the front left - NEVER wants her picture taken. 

That is the power of GOTR.

And why I believe, as Bob Ross said:

The happy accident here was one of the mystery boxes we opened at the luncheon.

It contained a certificate for three training sessions and nine cycling sessions at a place called Bodies by Burgoon.  I thought about it for a while and finally set up an account and emailed them to get started in July. 

Then they asked me - what is my intention?  And I thought about it and realized that I wanted to run with my daughter. Not someone else being her running buddy at the GOTR 5k. 

And so today - even on Fabulous Friday - I am in pain peeps. 

I worked out HARD yesterday and my muscles are sobbing, but I still parked 3/4 of a mile from my desk and walked up every painful flight of stairs.  Because I want to be smiling in that picture this fall too.

Boo Boo is not feeling well today....

My poor baby woke me up about 5:10 am not feeling well.

Her tummy ached, but no fever.

She tossed her cookies, and popcorn, and dinner, anyway.

Now.  She has been sleeping since just before 7am.  It is 9:30 and I was checking my "Facebook Memories" it led me to my post asking for help deciding on her play kitchen for Christmas. 

But you know what it reminded me of?  My sassy girl in this video.


And if that can't make you laugh after getting up too early to deal with vomit...you are dead inside.

I got FABULOUS on my chest.

So I got the opportunity from Allied Shirts to try out their custom shirt service.

I uploaded the logo, manipulated where I wanted it.  Front? Back? Corner or the WHOLE shirt? I picked my shirt color and size - and type, they have womens - mens - long sleeve, short, even sweatshirts and girly t's...

What did I end up with?

I do not drink soda anymore.  I quit much like I quit plastic bags when I found their were scores of them under my bathroom sink.

Cold turkey.

So.  I indulge a few days a week in a large skim milk latte.

Even better?  When my husband goes out to get the latte for me.

Fabulous Friday Dream Sequence - Zumba Edition

I have a wonderful blog friend - who has been ODDLY silent the last few days...
(I am writing this on Tuesday, that may have changed.)

I wanted to share with her the conversation I had in my dream about our Zumba Class together...

Go Visit her and say - Happy Fabulous Friday!

MLIP: Come ON GIRLFRIEND - I can see your ass is NOT shaking enough...

ML: YOU shake it.  lol

MLIP: T-bone can shake it...ha ha ha ha ha.

ML: Look at me!  I am Mr. Big - "pusha pusha"!

MLIP: You are two feet too short sista'!

ML: Right, I am "fun-sized".  tee hee hee!

Jumping around and sweating like the fools sexy sirens we are!

MLIP: That's right work it, work it...

ML: Uh-huh.  We are OWNING this Zumba workout!

MLIP and ML both bust a gut laughing into a heap on the floor.

Sigh. 

I went to Zumba again on Sunday and love it! 

I just wish I had a partner in crime along for the ride.  I thought of what MLIP said via email to me though and started laughing right out loud in the middle of class...

It must have inspired my dream. 

Have you seen Zumba?  While it may be serious fitness - it is also seriously hilarious fun!

Tales of the J-Dogg:

So he is recovering from jaw surgery of course...and I have been adamant about getting breakfast in him before school this first week back. 

Whilst I was cooking up his oatmeal this morning he said he was going out to "...turn his car around."

Uh, yeah.  Okay.

Goes out...comes in...huffs.  Goes back out, comes back in, huffs.

"My key fob won't work when the doors are locked."

Ummm.  Genius much?  You didn't test it BEFORE you shut the locked door with the car running??? And what frozen hell do you think is going on out there that you need to be "warming up" your car??
IT IS FIFTY DEGREES outside and we live in MINNESOTA!!!

Thirty minutes later we got it open. 

sigh.

I love being in sweaty gym clothes in my yard at 6:30 am.

And the cat got out.

At least I am still looking FABULOUS!  Even my boss said, "Wow Lisa you look NICE today." 

and he is a guy...

Random things.

Boo Boo got up at about five am and came into my room.  She was awake for a bit and asked for cereal...she fell asleep with the bowl in her lap and didn't spill a bit!

Our cat Roofis is NUTZO.  If he hears you open a bottle he comes running to try and steal the cap - you know on water bottles or soda pops???  Yup, and he skitters them across the wood floors and carries them up the stairs to knock them down them all.  It is only funny when it is not 2 am.  He also follows me around everywhere and tries to "beat" me to the next spot - this morning it meant that he slid across the living room floor and then sat there and looked at me with a "HA! Beat ya!" look on his puss!

I am tired.  (aren't we all?) and tonight we are celebrating a friends BIG birthday at Lee's Liquor Lounge.  Again my friends attempt to make me look hip and young.... HA!

I *might* need a latte.

My dear Boo Boo La La - found also on twitter @iambooboolala - took her very first horse ride for Miss M's birthday two Sunday's ago...she told me she was scared on Saturday evening, but the second she saw the horses in the pasture on the way up the driveway she excitedly squeeled:

"Do I get to ride the horsies right away!"

I was so proud of her...we even got video.

Now go visit my house twin.

Update on Mission Monkey - Winners being announced today & next week!

Its Fabulous that it is Friday - fer sure man!

I cannot tell you the joy and relief that I feel because it is Friday!!!  I am tired from my trip to Orlando and really just want to be at home.

Will be busy on Mother's Day because I still have Sunday School to teach & brunch with the family & at 5pm I have an appointment to pick-up my bridesmaid dress and have a fitting. 

(yeah, 5pm Sunday.  Weird, huh?)

BUT NO SCHOOL!!!  tee hee!  Pour me a margarita!

I was listening to the radio this morning, as always.  And they played this cool tune and I was thinking it reminded me of Jet playing Prince.  But it is really a band called OK GO and their song White Knuckles.

Apparently Feewaybill57 at YouTube agrees with me...



Oh - and some people have posted the new Prince tune on YouTube too - the DEBUT of the song was on the one the only THE CURRENT 89.3 - you can listen live on the web and be cool like us Minnesotan's too.

I think it sounds like Prince playing November Rain era Guns N Roses, but that may be just me...



Side note.  I MIGHT have told you this before, but I went to high school with Prince's bodyguards daughters(seems removed, but their Dad drove them around in Prince's Limo and he made tapes for them to sing and dance to in pagents and pepfests - even gave them Vanity Six costumes!) ...my entire high school was OBSESSED with Prince. 

It did NOT help that he lived about five miles away.
