This was an easy one for me...so I am playing along.

Each week, The (Un)Experienced Mom and Confessions From A Working Mom pick a category, then ask you to share your Top 3 thoughts on it!

This week...

If you could be a character in any movie, not the actor or actress but the character, who would it be and which movie?

#3 Would be if I could be a guy...cuz I would want to be Wooderson!!!

Dazed and Confused was an awesome movie - "I like High School girls because I keep getting older, but they stay the saaaame age."  Yes, he's a dirtbag, but he is fun!  Alright, alright.

moving on then...

#2 I would have liked to have been Julie Andre in Daddy Long Leg's....never heard of it?  Well, my family is BIG on old movies and I love love love this one.  As I get older and have a daughter though, it is a little creepy.   I even read this book!

#1 Speaking of OLD MOVIES.  Who WOULDN'T want to be Scarlett O'Hara.

Heck I would even want to be her in the TV Movie SCARLETT!

PROOF of my former hotness...but beware, she is under 18 boys!

Is it weird? Or just me?

Is it weird that last Sunday I asked my husband how my step-son dented his truck...and he doesn't even have it anymore because he sold it over a week ago?

Is it weird that I look back at old pictures of me from swim team and wonder why I wasn't more popular?  Damn...I was cute.  I will have to scan that one in tonight for you.

Is it weird that I asked my husband twice what the name of the store was that someone used his credit card to buy a television at - and now I can't remember the name of the store?  Yup!  Someone went on a shopping spree with hubby's Visa yesterday and it wasn't ME!

Is it weird that I was never even CLOSE to being prom or homecoming queen, but I dated a guy who WAS our homecoming king in high school and in college the homecoming king and a guy who was on homecoming court?  At the U of MN!!!  Go Gophers!

Is it weird that I like to wear PALE fingernail polish and DARK toenail polish?

Is it weird that I think underwear should cost no more than one dollar, but I always spend more than that?  Its PANTIES not something everyone sees - WHY do they cost so much?  $29 Hanky Panky's?  Not happening for this mama.  $3 Fruit of the Loom? More like it.

Is it weird that I don't mind watching iCarly and Sponge Bob, but I HATE Jonas, Big Time Rush and True Jackson VP?   And don't get me started on Miley!

Is it weird that I think I am skinny - until I look into a mirror?  I have really skinny wrists and that is what I usually am looking at...

Is this post weird?  Thoughts?  Anyone?  Bueller?

Monday Minute

Because today - I really only have a minute. I am too crabby to devote any further time...you would get bored with my ranting I tell you!!!

  1. What drugs have you done in your life?  I really don't have an answer other than I have had several sugeries and they gave me good drugs then!
  2. A/S/L? 42 for less than 2 more months/F/Work/St. Paul ...blah!
  3. Do you pick your nose?  Of course...you ALL DO!  Liars if you said no.
  4. What's your favorite childhood cartoon?  I liked Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street the best, but they were not cartoons.  So I will go with The Flintstones...except now I think Betty and Wilma were RAGS - they did nothing but complain and go shopping.
  5. List the URL, of what you believe to be the best blog post you've ever done.  This is tough so...
Here is my favorite "snippy" post - http://www.mommysnest.com/2008/04/too-busy.html
Here is the post that explains how I come from a long line of "chicky-babes" http://www.mommysnest.com/2008/02/i-read-blog-of-this-fabulous-chefchicky.html
My favorite Boo Boo post was Saturday, I think...but the poop ones are good too - or the shameless photo blog...I really can't pick.

I love my blog and that is why I write it!

Earth Day in Boo Boo-land

Saturday, April 24, 2010

On the evening of Earth Day it was my turn to pick up Boo Boo La La from daycare.  It was a bright and warm SUNNY day here in the land of sky-blue waters.

65 degrees farenheight to be exact.

Boo Boo was at the bottom of the hill playing in sand, as usual the dirtiest kid in the yard.  J was wearing a tank top and shorts.  It is very protected from the wind in her yard and was actually HOT in the sun back there.  I know because I sat on the deck with J for a few minutes chatting while Boo Boo got one last drink of water.
In BLACK pants and short-sleeve cardigan.

As we say our goodbye's & walk out of the gate to head down the drive, Boo Boo La La exclaims,

"Mama!  You have to see what I drawed for you.  Look!  Its Christmas!"
Really?
"Yup, see the snowman?  His name is Hershey and those are his earrings and a cake for him."
Hershey?
"Yeah.  And he is playing in the snow for Christmas by the Christmas tree."
Oh, okay.
"Yes, and do you see the snow-sun?  That is so the snow doesn't get melt. (so smart!)  And I wrote my name there..."
What is the heart for?
"That is because I love Mama!"

Happy Earth Day to Me!  And to all a good night...

Just a few things today...

I am playing the THURSDAY TOP 3 hosted by Confessions from a Working Mom & The (Un)Experienced Mom. If you'd like to join in click on either lady's blog to get started!

TOP THREE STORES FOR SHOPPING?
yes please.

who DOESN'T like to shop?

But I need to clarify my lists here!

For Boo Boo La La?

Once Upon a Child.  I refuse to pay full retail for jammies for a child under the age of sleepovers!  And probably after that too.

Old Navy.  Where else can I get her a Wonder Woman T?

Target.  For EVERYTHING else, duh!*

For ME!

Banana Republic.  God I love their t's!!!  Always perfect!

Old Navy.  Can't beat the prices!

Target.  ummm, again - DUH!  (j'dore tar-jay!)

For groceries for the fam?

Cub Foods.  My devotion to my home state!  I even went to Cub when I lived in Indy!  And they employed my daddy for the last 37 years.  He retires on Saturday!!!

Costco.  How do I love you?  Let me count the teenagers in my house that you feed & the Diet Dew habit of my hubby that you fulfill....

TARGET!!!  I love Target for grocery shopping.  Especially when I get those little 10% off coupons.  Their prices are awesome...(wal-mart can suc it!)

However, I never go to any of these locations any longer without my Envirosax.  You have heard me spew on about them in several posts.  And if you have NOT click on the label and all of them will pop up!

Get some for yourself today - the set above is exactly like the extra set I have.  You can get them just about everywhere these days - including their own website.  They also have a blog explaining how responsibly they act toward perserving Mother Earth while making a fashionable product.

Seriously, I get compliments DAILY!  Oh, and 10 cents off PER BAG when I use them at....wait for it....

TARGET

*My mother worked at Target on Roberts Street in St. Paul, MN.  I called her for the details because I +may+ have been a little fuzzy on it.  It was not the FIRST Target, like I thought, but one of the first!  She worked there when it opened in 1967 at the bakery.  Funny how things come around.  You do KNOW that Target had groceries via Applebaum's and a McGlynn's bakery in them in the 60's and 70's.  They got away from that in the 80's (If my memory is close enough) and in the past few years have moved BACK to having grocery items & a pretty rockin' bakery!  I LOVE TARGET!!!

p.s. Mommy Lisa has never recieved ANY compensation from Envirosax.  She had ONE giveaway for Father's Day where a reader got ONE Envirosax.  I just love them and their company and think their product is genious for an IDIOT like me to ensure I always have reusable bags with me.  I keep a set in my purse & a second set at home in case I need to wash them.  Which I do frequently - I always have a back-up!

Adventures in radio - Where did I work?

Radio is an odd business...even more now than when I was in it.

From my graduation at Brown I went off to a job in Crosby, MN at a station that no longer exists!  But I worked for the most awesome lady!!  ;)

When I lost that job because my boss couldn't afford to keep us all any longer I got a job in Ottumwa, IA!

When the new PD hit on me and things got too crazy in IOWA - I made them get me a new job at KDOG in Mankato, MN - well, my lawyer made them.  Again, it no longer exists.

That stunk.  So I got another job in Alexandria, MN at a station that no longer exists! (are you sensing a pattern here?)

Weekends I started working in Minneapolis at KOOL 108 - which still exists, sorta.  I got that gig because Bob Wood could not "get my voice out of his head!"  I love Bob.

I dreamed of a big market radio job.  Somewhere COOL!  (I even interviewed with Pig Vomit once by phone!)

I interviewed for a job in Syracuse...that would have been cool.  But they just brought me in to scare the crap out of the girl they had.  AND I HAD NEW HEADSHOTS TAKEN FOR THEM!  a-holes.

I got a call one day from another Wood.  David Wood.  He always joked to people "in the biz" that he was Bob's little brother.  They were BOTH hot-shot awesome PD's.

David said he got my tape from another PD in Texas and wanted me to fly in and interview for a brand new station in Indianapolis - that no logner exists! and really neither does radio - They sent me a ticket and booked me a hotel.  It was the first time I went for a radio interview where I did not have to pay to get to the interview!  so cool.

I came in during a DOWNPOUR and David picked me up and took me to the hotel.  Told me to order whatever to eat and put it on my room - he would be back in the morning to pick me up and show me around!

He was late - we took quick tours of both buildings - whirlwind introductions and no "real" interview.  Then we went out to lunch on the way back to the airport.  I am wondering how this is going to end.  Lunch is over and really all we have done is talk and get to know each other...then, in the car

"So do you want to start the week after Labor Day?  Will that give you enough time to move from Minnesota?"

Uh.  Sure!

"One thing.  Will you change the spelling of your last name to B-A-Y-H?"

Sure...(I had no idea why, my dad told me.) so you want to hire me then?

"Oh YEAH!  We loved your tape.  We only had you come down to make sure you weren't a nut or something."

Okay then.  Noted.  I am not a nut.
